Common everyday cars for drifting? Help,

I'm just gonna cut to the chase,
I'm looking for an everyday car that I can drive to school, work, etc... rwd, manual and the tough part, it has to be a sedan. Ive seen plenty of people say sedans aren't "as good as coupes" because of their size, etc... but I do need the extra room and seats. I've always been a big fan of BMW and I wouldnt mind owning one but if this car could remain cheap(ish) like from Toyota or another brand like that, that'd be mint. In my area, there are no 240sx, supras, ae86, cressidas or "sportier" cars like those so it'd have to be something common which I don't mind. I don't plan on stancing anything or modding/tuning the F*** out of it, maybe just a little, but nothing much. As of now I can only really think of brands like BMW and Mercedes which are both pretty pricey to maintain, again, I wouldnt mint those but something cheaper would be great.

Thanks

Lexus IS200 (preferably Beams + manual if they were available locally). You can even get them in a Sportwagon and NA 2JZ, but be prepared to do a manual swap for one of those as most outside of Europe are auto.

Being Toyota-made and common as hell means parts should be cheap, especially if you don't mind getting parts from the States where they are prolific.

What's your budget? BMWs aren't necessarily expensive to maintain from a parts cost point of view

All depends on location. Here, parts for any BMW are horrific: a 316-spec manual trans for a BMW is NZD$1500 / 850 quid

As opposed to an RB20DET gearbox for NZD 300 / GBP 170

I'm sure Canada would have particular manufacturers that are cheap, I'm guessing the likes of GM and Ford. But considering the large amount of Lexus' in the US parts should be cheap. And with North America's love affair with the Hilux, the R150 gearbox should be able to be found at a reasonable price too
