heres mine ha :wack: did the manual conversion the other day and thought i had everything but it wasnt until last thing i realized didnt have a gearknob so with a bit of improvisation i knocked this up, yes its a sodastream gas bottle!!

Luke, you could buy some stuff to fill the cans fine. Something strong and solid like epoxy resin (you could pack them out with chopped fibreglass strands) or maybe a tub of fibreglass paste for body repair.

Anyways once you get the cans solid and strong, you then need to attach them together somehow (it would be much easier and better to use TBH if you just used one can!!!) Personally I would try to get two or three holes drilled all the way through both cans (not in the centre) and bolt them together with threaded bar.

Then the final thing to do is drill and tap the base to 10x1.25.

Sorted.

Heres mine, just a solid bit of nylon bar. its very boring but I like it, great length and girth for gripping :wack:

Going to grab some stuff tomorrow on my lunch break and fit tomorrow night if the stuff has dried!

novelty gear knobs are so utterly wank. On the same level as lambo doors and lexus lights these days.

Function over form!

(disclaimer: In My Opinion, of course)

Nah, that went a long time ago, when I realised novelty shifters were gayer than grabbing cock everytime I drive.

feels great and have the right high

Long gear nobs are just a bit pants, they exaggerate any slop in the gearstick, and banging into gears now has 2 or 3 times the force because of the moment arm, increasing the chance of doing damage.

Had a long ally one on a car i bought and got rid of it the same day. I now use a little TRD nylon job.

But yeah, probably form over function in this case so do whatever you want to style your car dude. The key will be how to reinforce the can in a properly structural way to stop it from wrinkling. In a way that doesnt fill it with something heavy.

I would cut the bottom off and turn a hollow ally insert that fits tightly inside. You can bond this in with something and thread the bottom. Should do the trick ;)

Make a bunch of them and sell them to people who want to have their own can gearsticks lol. Give it a month and 1000 fiestas will have Monster can gear nobs haha
