Daily auto with welder?

Okay.. So some of you may know that I just brought an rx7 for a very discounted rate!

Draw backs were.. It didn't run when I first got it
And it's an auto.. My question is

Not rx7 specific but had anyone run a welder on an auto box on a daily? I know it will kill the box pretty quick
But I need to get some seat time whilst I save for a power fc and manual box and all other stuff needed for my swap!

I know it's not an ideal situation..but from what I understand, the rx7 auto box can be used as almost a tiptronic gbox with the use of the hold button

Thanks
Luke

I can see no difference between a welded diff on a manual or welded diff on a auto. just a few bangs while parking, same in a manual.

but learning with an automatic gearbox is not easy and it will have influence to your driving style.
Most entry's come from shift lock or clutch kick when I'm driving. e-brake won't work properly too, if you can't press any clutch. so try to get an manual gearbox as soon as you can. the car itself is great.

That's what I had thought about, I'm use to kicking the fuck out the clutch on initiation
Where as now I don't have that luxury haha.. With the autobox as I say you can almost have tiptonic so I'm hoping on entry's I can drop from say 3rd to second and get the wheels spinning that way?
This is why the box won't last long yogi ;)

LOL! I recon enough speed and flick you'll do fine. Probably make drifting with a clutch again piss easy :D

The thing I was mainly worried about was it being unpredictable for road use, I had a welder in my manual learner drifter
And it was fine once you got use to it, but because I don't have control of a clutch and normal gearing I don't know how it will handle :L

Tbh you saying that makes me think about the vlsd I had.. That was unpredictable haha
I've had welders before just not sure on a auto
And I'm sure dropping gears at high revs will kill the box haha

I've always found it beneficial to drop into neutral or drop the clutch when running at a very slow speed hard turning into a parking space to take the strain off the box, this is the only downside I can see to this setup.

I've got a soarer daily/missile. It's an auto with the standard LSD, I skid the thing about all the time. Tbh it helps with learning to flick the car for initiations. Going to be putting a welder into it soon. But yeah Dale also rocked a auto soarer with a welder, he was doing Lydden fine in that
