So I was wondering people's opinions as to wether they prefer either a diesel to drift, turbo diesel, petrol, petrol turbo or petrol twin turbo...?
There is no right or wrong answer just seeing what people think/prefer.

Ill start it off by saying I have a td and petrol twin turbo and both have seperate positives.

An engine being good or not for drifting has nothing to do with no turbos one turbo 50 turbos petrol diesel LPG methanol, etc etc.

The best engine design for a drift car would have a positive displacement supercharger OR a very very effective ALS system. Fact. As the perfect engine wants instant response and torque through the widest rev range.

BUT that doesn't mean all engines with them are good, or the best for drifting, far from it, as it's the whole design that matters.

best engine is one that can put up with the abuse of drifting. Not having drifted a diesel I cant say but you suggest twin turbos, well parallel or sequential setup?

Id go for simple single turbo engine with 300ish hp. 4 or 6 cylinder

I prefer I6's... Single turbo. With a properly sized turbine to keep lag down.

V8's are nice... VERY nice for drifting. Because power/torque curve. But I just hate them personally.

V8 twin turbo with low boost or supercharger are great, but maybe for beginners like me a six inline diesel could be good too. Twin turbo, parallel.

See you

I would say have a go yourself to see what you like . I know you said what people like but everyone is different .

Straight 6 for me . Lol
