Having a right nightmare here. Welded up 2 E46 diffs now, cleaned both surfaces, degreased, used lots of sealant evenly spread. They have both leaked after a few days. the first was left to set for about an hour before it was filled up with oil was the second sat for a week.

I have in between these sealed up 2 IS200 diffs with the same method which are both absolutely fine.

What am i doing wrong, ive never had a diff leak on me and have had at least 10 apart now. I have a drift day next week and no time to take the diff out again and reseal. are there any bodges i could try and do to sort this?

just a random thought but are you sealing the backplate around the inner section on the bolts that hold the back plate on?

Yeah im literally covering the entire thing in sealant, on this one in particular i covered both surfaces in sealant. its annoying the hell out of me :(
