Diff Rebuild E36

Hello, i'm from germany and currently building an e36 missile. I got some special questions on the E36 diff (Lsd, 188) that no one was able to answer me yet..

1. And most important:

How much material can i take off the lsd cover?
I read an instruction for building a 45% diff from the original 25%. There are 2 opportunities, 1 is cutting other angles into the tension rings, 2 is using 4 laminate packs instead of 2. But in that case, i read i could not use the cup springs anymore because theres not enough space inside the lsd "body". (No cup springs= no preload = not good for drifting) so where's the problem with taking 5mm of material off the cover, to make more space, so i could still use the cup springs? I'm especially looking for users who have already done something like this..

2. Question is more simple: How do i set the right clearance for the taper roller bearings (propeller shaft side)?

Thanks, hope someone is into stuff like that and can help me :)

for a 4 clutch setup you need:

take off the big washer near one of the cup springs (it's a 4mm washer, flat and big, you can't go wrong) on one side of the lsd pack
on the other side of the lsd pack you need to machine 4mm off of the cover

you now have the space to put 1+1 more clutch and rings in both sides

with the original 45° ramps and this setup you now have about 45% lock, 2way

for more lock you need more angle in the ramps, but i don't suggest to machine the original ones, because you will loose heat treatment on them..
you can try to find some motorsport ramps but they are very expensive and don't came out so often..
I'm currently making my own ramps throuh a cnc machinery, with all the heath treatments needed, but i need some time to make some testing..

sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand what i mean
