Hi this is my 328 compact daily which i picked up yesterday and had a great flawless 300mile trip home in with the manditory throw around in a car park at the end!

The aim is to try and do things as cheap as possible but not bodge and to skid as often (pembrey) as i can in preperation(skills wise) for my sierra drift car being ready for the road/track!

was lucky to pick this up all ready connverted and from a guy who knew his stuff and did the necessary mods/precautions that seem to get forgotten about!!! new clutch around 4k ago and flywheel was checked and in good condition, new plugs, oil and filter, new water pump and thermostat and alloy housing, new radiator, electric cooling fan, autogauge temperature gauge to keep an eye on things, it has a bride bucket seat fitted to drivers side, deep dish steering wheel, welded diff

Has come on cut springs so ordered some ebay coilovers today and want to get some nicer wheels, nothing to special probably some off another model and mabe spray black or white to keep costs down, any suggestions?

another issue is the welded diff, seems impossible to park in my street without causing a scene! i'd like to get a LSD off another model but theres so many options on here i dont know what to believe! :(

so yeah thats that for now, will drive it and see how i get on before deciding on any more mods, no point in doing what everyone else does just for the sake of it!

any comments/suggestions apriciated

Great base, ready to go! ..don't swap out the welder, you'll regret it when it comes to skids

Cheers!

i know they do the business but the skipping around town will piss me off, its all T junnctions in the town where i live! had a welder in a sierra a few years ago which made things a lot easier after trying a few ford LSD's which were useless!!!

forgot to say the compact has rack spacers and deep dish steering wheel, thinking of putting a hydro in as well seeing as my sierra has one.

Air filter mods and mabe de-cat for some more noise but it does sound sweet all ready!!!

right then luckily i have this week off work and will be going to pembrey this sunday for my first drift practice day!!!

so tomorrow i will be fitting my coilovers and got some hubcentric wheel spacers, found that the tyre side walls had been rubbing the arch lining at full lock and cut to the cords! pictures of hopefully some fitted items tomorrow

only thing is i dont know how may tyres to bring! any ideas?!!! :o

ok so managed a few changes to the car before pembrey

changed the suspension which made it a totally different car, no more sea sick feeling as with the shitty cut springs! and i can get over speed bumps without dragging the chasis over them! also picked up some cheap wheels with a decent offset and road legal tyres for £60...bargain!!!

how it sits now on the new whees

so my first drift practice day at pembrey which was also the odc round 2 went fairly well seeing as it was my first drift day and hadnt done much skidding for about a year, biggest shock was how slippery the track was as we had typical welsh/pembrey wether, rain pretty much all day!!! found a few pics online:

will be at pembrey again in june and hoping to have changed the inlet manifold for the 2.5 one, turned up in the post yesterday and also a 3" outward rolled cheap backbox to make a little noise, was struggling to hear what i was doing with having to wear a lid!!! might chop the cats out as well and at some point get a 're-map'. and if i have more spare time get the bride bucket fitted and look at plumbing a hydro in.

glad to see its beeing used properly still! really miss this car.

Ha ha I told you It would get used! :-) how are ya getting on with the mx5?

2.5 manifold is fitted now and the back box, pics will be up next time my laptop decides do work :-/

Looking good! Noticed much of a difference with the 2.5 manifold?

iv noticed its got more at the top of the rev range now but mid range torque is down, need to drop to 4th gear when over taking in places i didnt need to drop down for before, need to get a re-flash but going away next week and buying a re-con box for my sierra means it has to wait.

pic of the new inlet with gay mushroom filter, will try and make a viper induction kit fit before next practive at pembrey on the 23rd

also picked these up for very little money last week, dont know what to do with them yet

Cant wait for the next practice day after spending the weekend watching the BDC at pembrey, nice to have an event like that so close to home for a change!!!! :D
