Back to the DnB...
ive been producing drum and bass just for fun for a while now and decided to try and get some of my songs out there!
A youtube channel has now been set up to which i will be posting some of my songs and mixes as i create them!
i hope to make a few nice music vids featuring some sideways action

i would love for your support and opinion on the tracks and mixes, good feedback and constructive criticism welcome!
Im not a fan of dirty dub or any hardcore dnb so its more liquid type stuff i make!

I'd layer a harder kick with more mid in the loop, don't really like that synth at the start what is that a preset from nexus!? ;P
and maybe more subbass but sidechain it so you dont kill anything? any maybe a tiny offbeat bass with lfo modulation for a badder groove?

What vsts are you using?

keep it up!!

edit: BRO DO YOU EVEN COMPRESS THO?

Invaders of nine synth line at the beginning just seems a bit flat. The frequency range of either song seems a bit limited too, I've got a 7.1 hooked up and I didn't feel anything through the sub. The vocals need smoothing too, it's got a very 90's "recorded in a booth" kind of feel, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. None of it is bad, pretty good if you've just started out.

correct i have just started out, im using mainly P8 and Toxic 3 as my VST's. the synth at the begining isnt a preset, although could be adjusted so sound less "cheesy" :P

"BRO DO YOU EVEN COMPRESS THO?" Nope :P i EQ and that's as close as it gets if that's what you mean. I level it to the point where you can hear what i want you to hear without clipping and thats where my skill level ends :D tips?

i must add the invaders of nine is a re post and not my song, just like sharing a video on facebook, i was confused there haha i thought the vocals i used were nice and clear then realized what song you were talking about.

I use headphones to create the song then play it back through 5.1 to see what it sounds like on another setup then add whatever i feel is missing. i have sub bass in there so should come through but i didn't want it to be too much really. I know for future that Bass = happy people :P

thanks for you response guys!
once i get some feedback i may revisit the song and see what i can change!

Very key part is the bass but as above. Good as you've just started. It gets much easier and def need to look at how to level properly as the difference is insane. Properly levelled track always has a nicer feel throughout. Friend of mine has recently discovered this and is now making some sick tunes. Bit more jump up tho :D
