i was talking to someone about this yesterday, the tech may have advanced recently but the issues used to be that the rate of electricity saved versus what was used is very small. It something like 10 years before you make your money back and the panels only last about 6 years. So you replace them faster than you get a return from them.

Its a good idea but with the chinese solar panel quality they would likely use to make it cost effective, your looking about a max of 8 years of life. I cant imagine it would be profitable.
