My clutch ( ....guess.....techniclutch ! they catch so many new owners ! ) amazingly it lasted nearly 3 years, but was of course complete toilet ! Now its finally come off the fork I can replace it.

The car, R33 GTST ( RB25DET ) series 1 ( 1994 ) running between 300-350 bhp at most.

So far I've been looking at Exedy kits, mainly the usual uprated full plate at about £295, the paddle type kit ( if it fits ? ) at about £305, the Hyper single at a price i cant quiet figure yet, and then I stumbled on the Spec 2 here on driftworks, the place that seems to turn up those bits I cant quiet land on elsewhere :)

Any thoughts or comparisons ? I like the look of the spec 2 and it comes with the alignment tool too ? Also a bonus !

But adding to that, Im also Oh so tempted by the lighter flywheel too, any thoughts ?

Then, I thought about the hydrolic line, but I note putting a direct line makes the damper loop redundant - does this make for a less smooth but more immediate clutch engagement or does it not make the feel much different ?

Can driftworks lay there hands on a short shifter for a gtst so I can just buy one big bundle ?

And Finally, if anyones got any tips for doing the clutch, let me know - always appreciated as it will be my first attempt. So far i see, starter off, downpipe out the way, drain the gearbox, remove the stick, dissconect the prop shaft, undo various bits to drop the box and so on - is that about right ? Or is there other ways ?

Many thanks in advance, any thoughts on one or more of the above is much appreciated - to much to go through over the phone maybe ?

I have dun a couple of these, i dint need 2 take the down pipe off, theres 2bolts which are at the top of the gearbox just back of the engine 1 is bit of a pig at the nearside and 1 at the offside u cnt even get ur hands on it, so i bought a very long 14mm spaner and eventully got it out, dint put it bk in wen i had finishd, allso thers a few wires u have 2 disconect on top of the gear box which you will find wen u drop the gearbox so far, startermotor can be a bit awkward but be patiant and you will do it, tuk me bout 2 to 3hrs and a few brews 2 take off, duno if any1 else has anything 2 add,
