E36 325i - Boosting help needed

Hello,

I found a E36 325i from 1992 with ( 158.000 km / 98.000 miles ).
The car is perfect without rust and looks very good.

I´m going to buy the car when I have clear answers and plans.

But, now I need help!
How much bar can I run on my E36 325i ( 1992 ) stock engine?
I planned to install the Holset HX35 Turbo + K&N 57I-1001 Performance Air Intake System.

Then I also want to know what I could install to ensure that my engine don´t breaks because off the turbo boost. I´m on budget, that means I can´t change all the internals.

What I want:
A bit more boost and a nice turbo flutter sound. I don´t need much HP.
Just a little more boost and great turbo sound.

After cooler/intercooler
Fuel cut defender
Aftermarket exhaust boost controller
I'd say thats the minimum you'd get away with. But someone who knows more about BMW's should be able to help more
 
You'll need engine management and all the usual supporting mods unless you want to blow your engine to pieces.
HX35 might be overkill for moderate power levels as well.

BMW straight 6 iron block engine is capable up to 400 hp (up to 1 bar boost) on stock internals, you need to decompression it. You can do 0.55 bar boost on stock compression and it should do around 300 hp. HX35 is too big for your budget plan. I would recommend GT30/GT35.

Okay, great. As already mentioned, I found a good e36.
How can I check if that car that I found runs on an iron block?

Do you mean non-vanos with "decompression"?

As far as i know up to 1994 build year you will have M50 cast iron block engine with single Vanos or no Vanos unit (Variable valve timing system). Non Vanos is more interesting because of strong conrods. That's left one.

You need decompression plate plus two head gaskets to drop CR ratio down from 10.5 or 11 to 8.5.

Okay, great! I can get a non-vanos one so that would be done.
How much bar can I then run on that engine without chaning engine internals?

Would 0,5 bar be okay for the engine block?
