Bit of an introduction,
We are 2 mates from New Zealand,
We are in the process of building an e36 drift car. 90% of the fabrication will be done by ourselves. On a budget.

Car:

After stripping the front end and pulling the motor and trans it was time to give the engine bay a bit of a tidy up.
We decided we were going to tube frame the front end. For ease of access, to simplify the front end and allow for clearance for the mini angle kit in the works.

Few hours with a socket set and grinder and we cut the front tubs out, removed the brake booster, fuse box and most of the hardline (resr brake line is the only line we arnt re doing)
Spent a Good while shaving every bracket we could from the engine bay for a tidy up and ready for the fabrication work.

Boot was next on the chopping block prepping for a tubed bash bar and a fuel cell. A good chunk of weight removed so far. Still have the other side to finish up but the pics show the progress as it sits.

And the fabrication begins. Made some templates from some scrap cardboard which ill transfer to 2mm sheet steel. So far i have made plates to cap the chassis rails and The tube mounting points, i chose to Box in the strut tower in to strengthen it up a bit.

Started welding up a remote mounted hydro setup today. Means we can run the master behind the drivers seat and only need to run a handbrake lever upfront. Again. Made a mock up to see if it would work. More pics to come

No major progress recently, between chris off racing overseas and work we have been pritty flat out.

slowly collecting parts for the front suspension setup so far we have settled on:

-s13/14 coilovers front and rear - TICK
-e36 front camber plates/top hats
-s13/14 front knuckles - TICK
-s13/14 5 stud (5x114.3) front hubs - TICK
-6 pot Willwood calipers and big brake setup up front- TICK
-lengthened stock e36 Lower control arms - TICK
-custom lock adaptor (in place of cutting and shortening the knuckles for lock)

have found a adaptor online that i will post a picture of to get an idea of what they will look like

got some more of the plate cut and tacked in place for the front supports,
couldnt help but throw some paint down to see how it would look

As far as the angle blocks, which if I am not mistaken they are the CNC adapter blocks that move the tie rod in about 1.5" they have 0 ackerman, I am running the Drift Knuckles unicorn kit on my e30, but have fitted it to an e36, and the amount of angle is substantial, it may be worth the extra cash to drop on modded knuckles, and rack spacers, could probably piece together a kit cheaper than they sell them though
