E46 325i?

"ent it"
My s14 build is very slow and there is no way its going to be finished anytime soon :(

So been looking at getting a s14 or s14a but I'm just going to have the same problems with rust ect.
So have been looking at 2000-2002 Bmw 325i
Main question is will it drift? I know its not the most powerful car and guessing it fairly heavy.

What tuning can be done to them?
Not worried about daily use or insurance ect just want a nice looking rust free car with a strong motor

if its not a good car what is?

go on you tube or vimeo and search for Andy Sapp

and the U.S. 325i is something like 10bhp less than ours

Road Atlanta FD course in a US spec 325i is pretty impressive, think he's running less power than ours standard and he has cams in his or something. Sounds mint too!

price is the key factor, e36's are between 500 quid and 1500 quid but e46 325i are between 2000 to 5000 depending on year. so to that front cheaper to go e36 plus bits are mega cheaps.
chunk has a e36 up for sale with a few bits to make drifting more fun and capable for 1500 aswell as the assortment of other e36 325 - 328's for sale on here.
if you building an s body for skids why not look to have an e36 for pennies rather than an e46 for pounds?

give me some mod ideas for them seems like headers and exhaust and induction thats about it unless your going to fit a turbo kit which is huge money.

Any other power mods?

I currently have an 01 325i I haven't done any mods and you can already swing it around in certain conditions however, for drift mods for an e46 after tons of research I can recommend to you #1 weld supports to your rear sub frame #2 LSD!!!! Good luck finding one though ;) #3 adjustable coilovers... Now you have a functional drift car! :D however for further mods to make it feel a lot nicer are also obvious ones gut the interior and trunk, hydraulic handbrake setup and that should be on your list asap as stock e46 handbrakes do virtually nothing, cold air can also be done. But other then that not much I highly advise against putting any boost into these engines even with the price as they are so highly compressed you will run into a lot of problems to even keep it running

I've found e46 are far cheaper down south than e36 are. People are basicly givving away e46 323 which are more than capible of sliding. Tons of them up lydden the other day and they were showing up more powerfull cars its all about how you drive. E36 are definetly creeping up in price!
