Making a thread to keep me motivated and keep track of progress.
Boring and long background inbound… skip ahead if you just want to see the crappy bmw
So, after watching and loving drifting from the outside for years, I decided to give it a go on one of those drift school day things somewhere in Essex. Got chucked in a 350z with the worlds smallest bucket seat (RIP arse) but it was incredible so I decided I needed to go and buy one…
Sold my daily and then my weekend toy rx8 was vandalised, cat stolen, rusty, so essentially sold the lovely sounding and heavily ported rotary engine plus free boat anchor to a guy from the rx8 OC.
Funds mostly gathered, time to shop!
Realised I needed a new daily for work first and happened to stumble across a bargain on Facebook marketplace 325i, manual, coupe, looked lovely on the ad…
Went and bought it, basically unseen even though I was there accepted it was an old bmw so probably had everything leaking (correct!) and would need some bits doing elsewhere.
Turns out it’s actually a really clean car bar some stone chips on the front even though it has 150k miles. Tempted to sell it on or part ex toward a 350z, I realised it was a manual, rwd, not too f’d car so here we go drift beemer!
To do list:
1. Fix the leaks (rocker cover and power steering hose)
2. Service everything
3. Coilovers (cheapos ordered)
4. Rear diff (if anyone round Manchester way is handy with a welder and wants a bit of cash shout me )
5. Interior bits (seat, wheel etc)
6. Do mad skids
7. Fix what I break in step 6…
