ebay/paypal warning

I recently sold a item on ebay the buyer used paypal to pay 4 days after posting the buyer then tells me he gave me the wrong address the put a paypal dispute. Now paypal just refund him the full amount £235 and the funny thing is the item has seemed to have disappeared into thin air.

Paypal won't refund me even tho i have proof of posting so i'm £257.50 out of pocket because I still have to pay the ebay fees

I know a lot of people sell on ebay on here so please be careful After a quick google search it seems its a growing problem and paypal WILL NOT HELP YOU AND WILL ALWAYS GO ON THE BUYERS SIDE! :(

has anyone else had something like this?
 
paypal seems to be being strange at the moment... at work we use them for a few sites and even though we had international proof of postage, signature ect they sided with some one who said they didn't receive the item.
 
I feel for you, but you must always withdraw the money out of paypal to your bank before the buyer has a chance to pull that shit.

You shouldn't have to pay the ebay fees tho, usually if a refund is given you get the fees back, if not contact ebay.

Paypal 99% will side with the buyer now, the dispute system has changed in the last few months, now ebay handle the dispute, I've had a 2 disputes in the past on the old system as a seller and won both, just chancers trying to get a free item, under the new system as a seller must accept the odds there is a good chance the buyer may choose to rape you...

they held it to start with because it was a high amount

I've not very good at this sit back and throw money away so will be seeking legal advice asap.

yea paypal sucks, i had some similar issues before as i know many people have. basically ebay and paypal will do their utmost to wriggle their way out of any issue.

i posted an item once, it apparently got lost in the post but i didnt have the proof of posting so i wasnt able to claim on the paypal seller insurance policy. they told me that as long as i had proof of posting the item showing the address it was sent to and it was tracked/signed for then i would be compensated aswell as the buyer.

makes no sense that if you have proof of posting and they still arent doing something.
 
There's not much you can really do, its all in the paypal T&C's you agree to when you open an account.

Other option is to contact the buyer, check the address out you sent the item to, whats his feedback like, does he ever sell on ebay, if he lists something win the bid and 'collect in person'.
 
Yeah my old man wants to go pay them a little visit but I'm waiting to see what royal mail have to say if it was delivered then I will be reporting it as fraud for some reason I have to win these thing I dislike pay pal and ebay anyway I have till the 1st aug to prove something

I can't really afford to loose 25 quid let alone 250
 
Was stung a couple of weeks ago paypal put a minus in the wifes account
I had money in mine and they have stopped mine too
 
paypal suck. I had a problem a while back where i sold an old phone. Send it recorded and without even contacting me first the buyer put a dispute saying they hadn't had it. I checked, it was signed for. i spent about a week e-mailing & phoning paypal. replying to the dispute case, and sending the proof of postage and the buyer never responded. Then paypal sided with the buyer & froze my account for about 2 weeks. So i phoned orange and got them to fully block the phone anyway! so it was useless to them in the end.

But it is stupid nowadays. Even if you follow eBay's & paypals guidlines exactly they will ALWAYS side with the buyer. Sucks big floppy donkey dick.
 
WOW so lots of people are having shit off paypal.

Well I doubt i'll be getting anymore back but I have tons of time to kill so I will see where I get to I never give up ether I like to get my own way

I was stung as a BUYER from paypal. I paid £200 for some TRD clocks for my MR2 turbo and never received them...never got my money back!!!! Fucking work that out!!!! :confused:
