Ebisu 2016 documentary

Hi folks,

I'm a filmmaker from Edinburgh and one of the first things I ever shot was AwesomeFest back in 2011. Recently, I've been looking to shoot more and more short documentaries.

My latest was a piece in Barcelona about a Peruvian dude whose lost love lives on through his skateboarding:

I'm going to be making a two week trip to Japan in November and I'm planning the dates around the Autumn Drift Matsuri at Ebisu. I'll be aiming to make another short documentary piece while I'm there, largely filmed at the event but potentially with another day or so picking up shots elsewhere.

I'm posting here in the hope that someone has connections out there that could be of assistance in finding a suitable person to focus on. I'm not looking to make a piece about the biggest and best drifters out there, nor event coverage of the drift matsuri itself - but something that focuses on a really fascinating character and how drifting plays a part in their life. They don't have to be an amazing drifter, they just have to love it and be keen to be on camera (much like Gianmarco was in my piece about him and his skateboard above).

I was planning on chucking the chaps at Power Vehicles a message too - if anyone knows someone in particular that works there that I could make contact with then that could be a good start too!

Hope you like my work and thanks a lot in advance,
Jonnie.

Firstly I envy you for going to the Ebisu as it's on my bucket list.

Secondly, I look forward to watching it :)

I would say rock up and see who's hot on track. Keep an eye out for the Aussie guys as they're usually real characters and spreek our language. ;)

Been to Ebisu twice now and I'm going back in November too, after Matsuri so I won't see you out there unfortunately.

Ian. :)
