Hi everyone new to this site
Right down to business am wanting to know which engine swaps 1 the best 2 the cheapest 3 easiest 1jz or rb26 been told a lot of bad stuff about rb26 that u have to adapt the car floor for gearbox also in the process is there any think I should do before put it in. belts etc.. Any feedback appreciated

rb26 is the easiest, the tunnel needs a bit of bashing but no cutting is needed.
a 1jz auto would probably be cheapest, but by the time you convert to manual it will be creeping toward rb26 money

Nothing's wrong with engine but just want more power iv seen a few rb26s on eBay for like £2500 eBay might not be the best of places but as a general idea of prices it's not really a definitely happening thing as yet tho depends on how hard it is

Thanks for the responses

What spec is your engine now? It'd probably be cheaper to buy go faster bits than do a swap.

Thanks there wudnt be a prob if was getting pro to do it but I'm wanting to do it myself with a few friends thanks for all your responses im gunna have to really think about is it worth it

£2600 for engine.. then add the rest for conversion

1. whats your goal?

2. tune your sr or if you want 500+hp forge rebuild

3. keep your sr

4. sr's are good!!

Forge is prob the best bet but Hurd a lot of reliability issues that's why I decided to come on here as a lot of u no what's what and most will have had some sort of dilemma I have 4k basically to get engine sorted don't really no if will be enuff but its what I have so really cheaper the better

why not reliable??? its forged.. get a decent builder like doritech on here and your onto a winner ;)

4 grand will get a lot of engine! Both the swaps could be done on that money and you could build a proper spec sr but it entirely depends on what knowledge you have. Also for that money the resulting built Sr will wave its Willy at boggo RB's and JZ's

Yous guys are twisting my arm to keep the sr and go all out on it wid save a lot of effort and taking your words onit will piss on them both! tbh a just liked the tight fit bay with big rb26 did I mention a want it as a daily driver so myt of been a bit to much putting either of them engines in
Thanks again

Realistically you'd probably end up ripping the Sr out half putting the RB in stuggle like F to get it running properly, get the hump and go without a car for weeks on end and grow to hate it.
Stick with the Sr. You will have an engine much more capable than any RB you could have for the money minus the hassle and the only reason you really want to swap is because swaps are cool. Get over the fact it will be minorly less cool and have a mental Sr!

U hit nail on head mate its because its cool the rb IT IS al get pics on when done and thank use for all the feedback good or bad ;)
