I'm contemplating selling my Evo as my V10 M3 is nearing completion, and I could do with some funds to complete it. I'd like an AE86 to kick around in over winter, so if you have one to part ex plus cash let me know .
The car owes me just shy of 10k thanks to the improvements I've made, and the fact that when I bought it the engine turned out to be an Evo 4 engine , which I've just replaced with a 30k Evo 8 Engine in absolutely mint working order.
Spec:
Evo 8 Engine 30k miles, like new. Compression was 147,149,149,146 IIRC
Evo 9 80 series turbo, no shaft play.
Stainless tubular manifold that I spent a long time linishing so there's no blowing problems. All new gaskets etc
HEL braided turbo feeds
Stainless turbo elbow
3"Japspeed downpipe
Custom decat with built in silencer exactly like Norris designs sell
I think it's a Buddy club 3" rear exhaust section
Apexi Filter
Gizzmo Boost controller
Walbro fuel pump
All new fluids 1 month ago. Motul engine, MT90 gear, and Fuchs transfer.
I replaced the front brake discs with genuine items. Brakes are perfect, no judders etc.
Brand new HSD HR coilovers
Brand new drivers side wheel bearing and ABS sensor
Mileage: 72,759 Engine Mileage 30k
MOT about 10 months, and Tax 4 months
Interior changes are just a brand new Ralliart Gearknob, a good double din Kenwood stereo and the Gizzmo controller.
I had a brand new Clifford Concept Alarm fitted with anti hijack 2 months ago. (All paperwork supplied).
Bodywork is near perfect, the shell is structurally perfect, and as far as I can tell has never had an accident of any kind (HPI agree's)
I had a very small amount of rust repaired on both rear arches, and the front arches painted as a result of rolling the lips. The bodyshop insisted on painting both sides of the car complete. I had the rear spoiler removed (which is included in the sale if you want it back on) The paintwork alone just cost me £700 2 weeks ago, and the car looks very good for it.
Wheels are Matt Black 18x10 ET15 Rota Grid with 225/40/18's
The car does need finishing, which I'm struggling to find the time to do, so I've taken that into consideration with the price:
ACD lights are on. It's possible it just needs bleeding, but I get a fault code 82. Presume pump failure. I've seen replacement pumps for £250, and £50 for a specialist to bleed the system. As it stands it drives perfectly well, but obviously some performance is lost without the ACD/AYC working.
I've not had it mapped. It's obviously got the right bits for a reliable 400bhp, but currently I'm running it at 0.8bar so it's safe until the remap.
Other things worthy of mention
in 4th and 5th really low revs there is a small whine from the transfer box or gearbox. You don't notice it if you have the stereo on, and it doens't bother me at all, but I'm trying to note everything.
It has a piece of wood under the battery clamp (I know, trampy) but it was a quick fix for the MOT that never got done properly.
The heater only blows hot, and I didn't refill the aircon after doing the engine swap.
Regarding the wheels and ride height: I understand the fitment is a bit extreme for most. If you want something a bit more normal. We are the biggest Rota wheels dealer in Europe, so let me know what wheels you want and as part of the price I'll swap them for brand new Rota wheels of your preference, and see what we can do about tyres if you want something different.
Ride height, obviously I can raise this up to the height you prefer, and get it aligned to your specifications at Aline in Dudley. If you however want it this low, I've just designed a roll centre and bump steer correction kit we'll be putting in to production soon.
Serious enquiries only please. Contact me for viewing.
The car is in Birmingham, please enquire by PM or phil at driftworks dot com and I'll pass on my phone number.
£7400
Apologies for the pictures, I haven't washed or cleaned the car.
