First drift day, what to take?

Well after becoming obsessed with drifting after doing an experience day thing at pod last year and spent most the day out with Vince I became hooked and broke and sold up all my parts from my mitsi and eventually bought a S14a. Had it couple months now and just been getting used to the car, getting to know it etc. its got a fair bit done to it only running 265bhp atm which will be enough for the minute.

Just had my abs deleted, diff welded up and solid rear mounts fitted aswell as a hydro fitted and complete new copper brake lines seemed the way to go and tidied up the old abs crap that was no use.

Anyway finally got round to booking a day at pod which isn't until September so got plenty time to get the car ready which its already had full service and all new belts fitted and new coolant.

Other than my spare 2 alloys and 8 tyres, tools, jack, cable ties and various spare nuts and bolts is there anything else worth taking?

is the standard rad and hoses up to a day of drifting or is this something that I should replace? Will be starting at the beginning and just playing in the small pens, done a bit before been a while so lack in confidence atm hopefully by end of the day that will be no more lol.

Any advice on best things to take along would be great! Also is it ideal to take bumper/bonnet off etc what's people's opinions on that?
 
I take spare everything, so coolant, engine oil, spare plugs, spare aux belts (seen plenty of peoples cars trailered home due to these snapping), a spare coil pack or two, every tool in my toolbox, lots of cable ties, nuts and bolts and washers etc, atf fluid (your ps will leak overheat and leak a bit).

A coffee flask is handy too! Oh and i always bring some snacks etc for the day as half the time i dont fancy going for lunch and just want a quick sandwich :)
 
Spare kaks for when you shit yourself :P Try to leave skids on the pavement rather than your pants :D
And water to drink. You will work up a sweat.
 
and don't forget to take a good amount of patience and your sense of humour for when things don't seem to be going quite as you envisaged, good luck mate and enjoy it.....
 
Definitely bring at least one fire extinguisher. Had a small fire on my first drift day. Was glad there was one in the car.
 
Lol fire? Sounds like I will need spare boxers if that happens! Lol

Got plenty of sense of humour not sure on the patience tho lol I have visions of me being like that matey from Tokyo drift trying to drift the evo haha and everyone being like the two Chinese guys fishing lol

Cheers guys, if you see a guy having a hard time in an emerald green s14a with white wheels, ducktail spoiler and max roof spoiler please don't take the piss lol
 
Everything mentioned above and:

Planks of wood - to drive on to get car high enough to jack using trolley jack
Gloves - reattaching exhausts that have fallen off their hangers / doing stuff around hot side of engine bay
Hammer - always needed for clearancing, mini sledge is ideal if available
CRC/WD40 - something will need to be unseized
Spare tie rod ends and inners - normally first thing to bend
Hose clamps of all sizes - clutch-kicks often cause intercooler pipes to pop off
Vice grips - DIY flaring of intercooler pipes
Socket set - must have 14mm, 17mm and 19mm for Nissans
Multimeter, some cables of different lengths and sizes, fuses - always handy and you'll wish you had them if electrical stuff hits early on
Tape measure - alignment, especially when setting front and rear toe if it starts pulling one way or the other

Nice to haves:
18v 1/2" impact gun and drill to help with wheel nuts and fibreglass stitching. The impact gun is a life saver especially.
Spare axles
Folding marquee if there is no cover, i picked up a 6x3m one and it is a godsend in winter, takes 2 people 10min to set up and anchor them with spare wheels if wind gets up.

Leave bumpers on unless you run low enough to bang on the ground and/or have mint paintwork and/or for some reason want to keep them mint. You will want pics from your first day and will regret not running aero when you go to show your mates.

Make sure your handbrake is adjusted properly prior to the event. And change the oil after every second/third event, it's cheap insurance.

And if you're running a standard radiator it may pay to have it professionally / chemically flushed prior to the event, and put premixed coolant in. If it still gets a little hot, pull the bonnet off.
 
Cheers mate most of that stuff I will be taking as I have a decent socket set then have the tool bag with consists of complete randomness

Just never thought of a drill etc lol
