What's up guys! I wanted to start a thread to document the build of my new BMW for Formula Drift Pro 2 next season.

Here's some links to the builds of my last 2 cars:

Said s13:http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45292

My FC3S(95% completed): http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18371

A little background on myself: My names Blake, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada USA and I've been drifting and competing the past 3 years. The last 2 seasons I've licensed in the Southwest Drift Series. Nows the time for me to make the jump to the next step.

I'll post a lot of pics along the way

Heres some of my previous car which I just sold and free'd up cash for this new build. 416 LS3, dogbox, fuelcell etc.

Alright, lets get to the real content now...

So the starting chassis is a 2007 BMW 328i with around 40k on the odometer. I bought the car from an insurance auction from a flood damage claim. Otherwise the car is pristine inside and out. Not even a dent.

For the powerplant, I am having built a high compression 440 C.I.+ dry sumped LSX-based engine built partnered with Ben of EFI University in Havasu, Arizona. Staying NA, he's confident we can make over 850hp and rev between 8000-9000. Talking to him and his expertise I don't doubt this at all. I witnessed a 381C.I. LS make over 740hp on his engine dyno using LS1 based heads.

For transmission we've bought a Jasper 4-speed dogbox. This is the transmission NASCAR teams Joe Gibbs Racing and Stewart-HAAS Racing use in their Cup programs. Should be stronger than the usual GFORCE GSR everyone uses and what my FC has in it. Currently I'm having a 29-spline input shaft installed and will run a 7.25" Tilton or Quarter Master clutch Along with a magnesium midmount bellhousing

Rear diff is a Speedway Engineering Quickchange utilizing a 10.5" ring gear

Handling the build, I've partnered with 18FAB in Phoenix. I'm setting out to build one of the nicest cars in FD, and I know that to do this I'd have to branch outside mine and my dads skillset haha. Aside from that I have a fulltime job and go to school so neither of have all the time needed to devote to this car.

Wow that looks stunning, I really like that s13 especially with those lights! Good luck with the build I see this coming along well [emoji2]

Nice to see you're documenting the build on here, heard your interview on Maximum Driftcast the other week!

Loved the ps13, hopefully with the bmw you'll be able to keep the style aspect as well as the functionality of running a pro2 car.

Your PS is so rad, if you can make the BM look half as good your on to a winner.

Please lets not see it ruined with FD fitment!

All the best with the build and the FD, I will be keeping an eye on both :)

Followed your SW builds a long time ago, no doubt you've got the style down! Looking forward to seeing your approach at a chassis that isn't Japanese.

Appreciate the comments so far, I posted a long update about the actual e92 but it said that it needs to be approved by the admin

Yeah so it looks like my long post about the car initially never went through... :/ If you'd like, heres a link to whats been carried out thus far with the actual car: Builds - StanceWorks its long winded and i cant copy and paste with the BBCode no longer there haha

Small update: The transmission and bellhousing showed up. We had them ship in a specific container so if i ever have the ship it to be rebuilt its a clean solution.

The transmission is awesome, its a very quality piece. All the machining is impeccable and its insane how little rolling resistance there is and zero play virtually

The bellhousing is also rad. The thing seriously weighs 5 lbs... Full magnesium with midplate mounts so we can further tie the drivetrain directly t o the framerails. And its designed for a tri light TOB so i can remove the trans by unding the 4 main Muncie bolts.

And then yesterday I woke up to a call thinking my shop was broken into. But luckily it was just the wind. I readjusted the tracks and were good to go.

Now omw to pick up the full Wisefab system from Forrest.

And as promised, heres the Wisefab kits for front and rear. Everyone I've talked to says this is the most developed system they have ever made. These 2 boxes are whats gonna make this car an animal.

Here's the rear kit. The benefit of this is it changes the kinematics to aid in forward bite as well as side bite, enabling me to maintain more speed sideways, and be able to catch the hard chucks. The toe arms are slotted so I can adjust the amount of toe in under compression as well as antisquat. It's also effectively a drop knuckle so the car can be lower while cycling correctly.

Although i wish this car used a true rear coilover, the benefit of a separate spring is that it will be much quicker to make quick spring changes.

And front kit. Obviously adds a ton of angle, but also flattens the contact patch, and lessens the needed caster, so that the car doesn't place as much bind on itself and allows the car to maintain speed at angle.

And heres how the doorbars are turning out. Nascar outer bars and an inner V bar. Theres been so many drivers that have gotten injured from side impacts. The passenger side will have only a nascar bar.

And how the A-pillar lines up allowing barely enough room for a 1" dimple gusset. Should look great and tight fitted.

So my radiator came in and the thing is MASSIVE! I guess I knew how big it would be because my dad and I designed it, but seeing it in person is awesome. The dimensions are 38"wx18"t in a dual pass design. Fluidyne incorporated -20 AN ends for the inlets and outlets, and a -8 bung on the opposite tank that will go up to my Radium expansion tank. They also made a simple shroud that uses 2 16" Spal fans. Combined these units will pull over 4000cfm. If that isnt enough, I can upgrade to brushless 16" Spal fans that will pull nearly 6500cfm.

The size of this radiator fill nearly all the space from the rear window sill to the trunk floor, and within 1/4" from strut tower to strut tower. This will greatly simplify the ductwork.

My steering wheel also showed up. 350mm Sparco with 90mm dish in black suede.

Hopefully soon I'll have more updates on the fabrication with the car.

Small update: Went to drop parts off at the fab shop and check up on the car. Cage is basically finished just had to check on the harness bar and door bars.

Also sat the radiator in the car to get an idea on placement and the thing is awesome. It fills a ton of the void back there so ductwork and shroud work should be minimal

Seat mounts, a and b pillar gussets, and nascar passenger door bars should be done this week. Progress has been slow due to an injury on the fab shops side but he swears itll get done.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the BMW.

HUGE fan of the red PS13!! watched all of the videos :)

Good luck :)
