Going rates for E36's

Had a conflab while getting a puncture repaired at a local place and the guy mentioned his brother was selling his E36 323. I've had 2 s-bodies but never a bimmer so don't really know the going rates. From what I gather it was bought to skid, but he doesn't enjoy skidding so it should be in decent nick. It sounds like a stock car bar welded diff, hydro, stripped, I'll assume coilovers of some kind and a straight through pipe. He wants £1,500 for it. Is that too much or about right? Cheers
 
Got in touch with the seller and it turns out it's an E46 preface lift! 107,000 miles, MOT'd, looks in decent nick from the photos. Same spec as I presumed. Organising to go see it, what figure should I be looking for roughly? Cheers again lads
 
The only e46 I would look at is a 330i all the rest seem gutless to me personally!

Not that it won't be any good, they just feel lardy
 
Also look for the subframe trying to break free from where it's ment to be. Agree with above the 46 is a heavier feeling car, they skid fine so if it's around 1k go for it.
 
Found a very very tidy 325 E46, well looked after, low mileage and 2 miles from my door. For a novice is a E46 325 good for a first skid car?
 
I had no issues with my e46 325 compact, went well and never let me down (even after all the times I let the car down), you won't be winning competitions but it'll do the job for sure.

Added bonus is every scrapyard has at least ten of them kicking about.
 
Guy wouldn't budge from his £2,000 asking price so let it go, found a nice E36 328 that I'm going to see tomorrow which is local so looking forward to it. I'll get pics up if I buy it
 
Fully sorted E36 328/325 non vanos with buckets, hydro, coilovers, exhaust, induction, rack spacers/hubs should set you back £1500.
 
In Dunfermline? Spoke to the guy and he seems a decent bloke, picking up the E36 328 tomorrow though, prefer that shape to non facelift E46's. I'll get pics of it tomorrow
