In Safe Hands
I got a bit of an ebay bargain about 3 months ago and picked this up from a dealer just outside cambridge. Needless to say, he didn't really know what he had. I thought she might make quite a good run around?
Anyways, the shell and engine were both totaly mint. It's an Automatic, None Turbo car with an RB20E engine (single overhead cam jobbie) The brakes were shit and one of the seats had a tear in her but she ran and drove really well. Bloody comfy if you ask me...
Anyways, about 500 miles into ownership... The altenator went pop. Lucky for me i wasn't too far away from Watford Motorsports (Mr Julian Smith) and i got the AA to recover me there.
Once there, Julian took a gander under the bonnet and found this:
"Ahh... Don't worry laaaadd" he said to me... "Leave it with me for a week and I will have it all sorted"
Being the type of trusting person that i am (and because i know julian quite well) I left it with him and true to his word, 7 days later i get a phone call...
"Julian" (i answer the phone)
"Sure... the Cef's ready for you to collect"
"Okey, heading down there now" (I said)
A couple of hours later I was down in watford strolling into his workshop... I pop the bonnet to the car and to my utter suprise. I found this:
"Errr.... Julian... There's an R33 skyline engine in my cefiro..."
"Sure, i couldn't find an altenator that would fit, so I just decided to throw in the engine and box out of that crash damaged R33 you dropped off here last week"
"Fair Enough I said"
So I thought, i might as well go the whole hog...
So she now looks like this:
The Engine has been rebuilt with:
Wisco Forged Pistons
256 Pontecams (in/out)
1.5mm cometic head gasket
Overhalled bottom end with bearing's/seals etc
R34 turbo
SS Autochrome Turbo Elbow
Manifold Stud Kit
R32GTR clutch
Chassis Has:
Welded Diff
Driftworks Polly Subframe bushes
R33 Skyline rear hubs
S14 front hubs
R33 Skyline Brakes All Round
Reddot Grooved Disks
EBC Pads
KYB Shocks with HKS Springs
Some SERIOUSLY rolled front and rear arches (Cheers for letting my use the arch roller phatty)
She also has an AVCR boost controller.
