Gx100 diesel to 1jz swap

Hello all
Recently bought a 2.4 turbo diesel mark II with seems to be quite a rare car
I've always wanted a mark 2 or chaser with a 1jz but the price range has always been way out of the range so bought this with the intention of converting it.

So far the list I've made of needed parts is
1jz gte vvti
Box and bellhousing to fit
Clutch setup
Pedal box
Petrol tank
Engine mounts



Just looking a few pointers e.g. what pedals work and also if handbrake can be retained
Also places to get things

Is it better to get ecu from manual 1jz?

Would my clocks work?

Big ask but gas anyone done the full diesel to 1jz before ?

I know it won't be a jzx100 even after all the work but not looking it for resale looking it for pleasure

Dont mean to be a dick, but unless you got it for sub 2k, it will probably cost more to do this than just buying a JZX100. Could you not just save up over time, sell yours, and buy a JZX? If cost is a big issue you could buy one that needs a little work, but that would be far better than ending up with a diesel converted one (which is probably worth like 6k if youre lucky), these days thats probably not a million miles away from the cost of getting the full powertrain sorted (full engine with ancillaries and loom, box, clutch, prop, diff etc etc etc).

Just saying, in my opinion, if money is an issue, be sensible with it. That being said, i wish you all the best with the swap. All i would probably add to your list is everything rear of the gearbox, so a prop, diff and possibly needs shafts. JZX has bigger brakes i imagine so youll be wanting them too.
 
No mate don't worry would get her hear the truth than someone telling me what I want to hear for the sake of it was a cheap car and just had respray so outside in happy with it and underneath is solid so that' a big part of wanting to go for the swap as you say it would be against the 6k mark which would leave her not worth it in resale value but also so real interest in selling in the near future
 
There are a few threads on JZX100.com forums where people have converted mainly X90 diesels to petrol.

As for fuel tank, check Robin Piper's IS350 build thread on here as he bought a diesel car and converted to 1JZ. Also, JonnyDiscoPants E60 5 series was diesel converted to 2JZ. You may be able to retain the tank itself if I remember correctly.
 
anyone has swap toyota cresta x90 AT transmission (diesel) to 1jz twin turbo AT transmission ? is it plug n play or need to change engine mount or anything else ? cuz i got this model original diesel on it , would like try to convert 1jz .. any suggestions? Need help....
