The question I have is simple, do you press the clutch every time you use the handbrake?
Now...let me elaborate a little- having read a few threads about clutch kicking I've started to question my drifting 'technique' (if you can even call it that) Using Lydden Hill as an example I personally I don't dip the clutch when using the hydro when entering Devils elbow even though the rear is locked up for some time. I obviously come off the power whilst the rear is locked then back on the loud pedal once released.
I'm certainly no mechanic I was thinking that surely pulling the hydro whilst still in gear locks the engine+drivetrain, which can't be good for it? So does not dipping the clutch do any mechanical harm? Which brings me back to my initial question, do you dip the clutch every time you use the hydro or just if locking up the rear for a relatively long time?
I know using a hydro to initiate a drift is massively frowned upon by some...It's that that got me thinking about the above. My aim is to try as many methods as possible in future and see what works for me.
