Heeeeelp!

Heeelp! my engine has given me bolox and won't rev smoothly above 4500 revs, seems to cut out from the ecu as soon as my second stage of boost comes in and won't go above 6000 revs (I'm in a more or less internally standard 1995 r33 GTs-t (RB25))

Could it be the wastegate? Plugs melted? It's fairly spritely up to 4500 and the first stage of boost is fine so I'm guessing the cylinders are ok, and I've recently changed the fuel filter so it's not that. I've not had the car long and I was told that it had been set up for uk super, I've tried metered amounts of NOS octane booster and that's not doin much ( I didn't push it! ) but now this problem is getting on my tits. I had trouble outrunning a fookin CRX last week.

:worthy: I would be very grateful for any help or ideas :worthy:

Could be a number of things, check the basics first, start with the plugs, condition of them can tell you a lot, ie if they're white, you're under-fueling, could be knackered fuel pump or unsuitable chip if it's been tuned. I'm guessing it'll be ignition related or fueling, I doubt it'll be airflow. Also, check coilpacks etc to make sure you're getting a spark.

Or, quite simply you've hit fuel cut and need a fuel cut defender or chip.

80% or more of the R33's with problem is due to a dying spark plug or the coil pack that supplys the plug with electric current.

The current thinking on SOC/GTROC is an Iridium IQ24 Plug gapped at 8mm.

They should last through any tuning stages you do aswell (over 400hp easily).

The other problems are after a boost increase and it's normally the stock Fuel Pump not supplying enough, a GTR pump is a direct repacement.

Hope that helps

Hiya amte - Thanks for the Engine, just modifying my old Sump to fit and it'll be ready to go in :D

 Hello there, I've re-set the Ecu, found the how to on skylines down under, made a noticeable difference to the general manners at low-ish engine speeds but didn't solve the problem, then I checked the plugs.
mmmmmmm. are they supposed to be white? bits missing?
 I thinka nota  .
I'll go with the iridium jobs they sound like the solution, much appreciate the replies chaps I was starting to panic. I can't afford an engine re-build.... :D
