Forgive my ignorance...

So theres a local garage who gives me their scrap tyres
I know there is a little leeway with the sizes but how much exactly?
My original tyres are 185/65 15 so how different can they be to the actual size?

Also how many tyres at 3mm tread and below would i go through during the day? (Assuming I'm an okay driver and its dry)

I know it may have been covered already but the threads iv looked through already have no clear answer to my first question.

Thanks, Cowell

Well give us your wheel size and we can let you know what will fit.

As for the tyres it depends on everything.. driver, car, power, skill, track, conditions, life in tyres.. You wont get your answer too easily.

Guess ill just see on the day how many i get through!

and I cannot be sure what the wheel size is, the tyres on the stock wheels are 185/65 15r, I can assume that was the size put on at factory.

185s from the factory are likely to be on about a 6in wide.

But regardless, if they're meant to be 185s, on that wheel it will easily take about an inch up or down, so between 155s and 225s I'd not see a big issue with on a 6x15.

Always take as much rubber as you can fit. You dont wanna run out when there is still track time left.
