Hey guys
I've just been given an rb25 block but it seems the previous owner has used a grinder to remove the auto spigot bush. Let's just say the bush wasn't the only thing he cut, he carried on through the spigot bush seat. Is this terminal? Am I going to have to replace the crankshaft? Or is this an easy fix?
Any help would be appreciated guys :)

its definitly chancy but looks like alot of material is still there to grab the bearing, its not ideal but i would leave the crank as is and see how it goes.

it amazes me to see the amount of people out there that dosent know about the grease trick to remove a spigot bearing

Id be more worried about the fact it looks like its been stored at the bottom of the ocean for a year

This will also cause an unbalance in the crankshaft wrt rotating. But wouldn't know how much and if it is too much..

Haha :D fucking animals! I'm guessing they didn't know about the grease / hydraulic pressure removal process.
To be honest it's probably absolutely fine to use though. Balance won't be an issue. Just make sure you clean it out before fitting the new bearing, use copper slip, and make sure it's not out of alignment. I'd clean up the face with a wire wheel, and send a tap down the threads before fitting too.

That hydraulic pressure thing has never worked for me. I used an air chisel from the outside edges of the auto bush. Takes about 30 seconds.

Some savage been at that with the grinder though, Jebus.
