Hi Kristian
welcome to the forum :)
to compete in the UK, you don't need any special insurance (cars aren't insured on the track, that's just the way) and you don't need to have a roll cage (a good thing as it keeps the costs down) You don't need any special race license or safety features except for a helmet.

As long as your car is in good roadworthy condition with no parts falling off or oil spills and you have a helmet, you can take part :)

If you have any questions about UK events, this is probably the best place to ask them as most people here take part in Drift events at any chance we get :D We're always happy to answer questions about drifting and are really pleased so many people from around Europe have signed up on the forum. Hopefully we can come over to some Swedish events at some point
cheers,

drift q´s

James.

thank you so much !

I know Fredrik FSR quite well (he´s a friend)

& it´s because of him i found out about the Option/D1 - UK comps.

did you se the pics of my car in the thread... present yourself ?

Best regards & thank you guys for a WARM welcome to the board.

Kristian !

you're welcome :)
yes, I just saw the pictures, it looks sweet  although I think it would look even nicer with some big Driftworks stickers ;)
Like we said to Fredrick, you guys are very welcome over here and if you want to come over and need help finding places to stay or anything, just let us know

Just to add, you need a flame retardant suit/overalls to do the rounds at Silverstone.

Lee

thanxs.. I have everything like that -including flameproof underwear
including a Bell Nascar helmet just as Tom Cruise uses in the movie Days of Thunder :D

James. thanxs again.

what do the Drift Works stickers cost ? sizes ?

If we do attend... We do need a place to sleep...
we were thinking of camping ...... good & bad in the UK ?

i´m in the process of pursuading some friends to come with me.. i´ll have to take my car on a trailer i´f i come though - & this raises the ferry/petrol/tunnel costs a lot.

I am doing fine thanks :)

I am getting some adjustable suspension and lowering springs fitted tomorrow along with a blitz nur spec r exhaust and a decat pipe. That should get me started :)

just some new "light" sponsors.....

landeda deal with Valvoline (free oil) for 2005 & probably a BIG deal with FULDA tires (free tires) also for 2005

made som BIG drift displays during the last weeks.
& organized DD2 here in Sweden.... & got a ride in an Koenigsegg CCR

Kristian,
camping's usually not too great in the UK, but there's plenty of cheap places to stay. bed and breakfast for £25 each will be fairly easy to find in most places.
At the moment we're only doing small 12" stickers which are £2.50 each + postage (more sizes coming soon) but if you want some big ones I'm sure we can come to some arrangement ;)

Hey Kristian,

Good to see yet another AE86'er on here. Your Levin looks very sweet, hope you can make it over to some UK events. Well done on the sponsorships as well.
