HICAS rear ball joints for R32 ?

Hi DW peeps.

can you guys get R32 GTS/T rear hicas balljoints ?

I need to get me a set along with some R32 upper arms.

Get rid of them. They suck. Use a polybush (I think Ant did that) or put an S13 rear subframe on.
 
yeh they suck, get rid of them an run a conventional toe rod, you can get brackets that bolt to the subframe that give you pickup points for the toe arms
 
Does that mean bolting up an entire s13 subframe to do it ? The HICAS is not locked out and everything is still present.
 
I have a similar problem, Ian. Looks like one of mine has some play in it. I've got my HICAS locked with the Tomei setup, but I've been considering the Midori locking arms. The HICAS unit is totally removed, including the track arms, and the Midori ones bolt onto the car in it's place, giving a solid arm.

S13 complete rear sub will rid you of DeathCAS/GayCAS whatever you want to call it.

What Ant describes will rid you of the shite HICAS outer ball joints which wear out like every 6 months. They are shit.

You will still need to lock it out with a bar or washers in the HICAS rack. Not much hassle though.

I still think a complete S13 subframe (with a MIG'd diff) is the easiest option - it's like 4 or so nuts... (use your existing brakes and hubs). If I still had an R32 that's what I'd do.

I'll order a set of the front upper arms as they are 100% needed :thumbs:

I guess I am looking for the most cost effective and simplest way of sorting out the back end wiggles. I cant be without the car for too long. it seems easier to just remove the need for even buying those Midori rear lock arms.

Maybe I should just do it all properly and get DW to make me a hybrid R32/S13 full arm/links kit ?

Does anyone happen to have an s13 subframe ? I guess I'd end up using all the s13 rear arms to do this too. Maybe Mr Mitch ? I think he has un hicas'd many a skyline in his life.

I was really toying with selling my skytractor but I still really like it lots. I am starting to think I should just sort it out properly using one of these subframes and then I will love it again.

I don't know a great deal about niiiiisans but I have also heard that i can remove the need for those R/Z32 upper arms completely by using s14 parts ?

It would be nice to put together a shopping list for all the arms to sort each corner of the car ? new subframe and diff bushes etc whilst its apart.
 
Leave the front alone... replace the upper arms with DW ones if you must, but don't change to S14 stuff!!

Yes, like I said (twice already) you just swap the complete subframes over, use all the S13 bits on the S13 one bar the brakes and hubs. Bolt your brakes and hubs on.
 
Ive got a full UK S13 rear subframe inc solid rear beam bushes/mounts and welded diff, driveshafts, etc.

Can have it all for 50quid if you collect it from Bath.

Got some cusco adj rear toe arms too for it if want.

Just needs some camber arms (got the stock ones still i think, can have em for nowt if i have), and its complete, i think?
 
Ordered my R32 upper arms and tension rods yesterday....they just arrived.
