How do you do it?

---Can't Drift---
I've seen loads of cars lately that have been quite heavily modified and I was just wondering how people manage it. I find it bad enough trying to do small jobs on my driveway. How do people manage big jobs on their car. Workshop space is always going to be at a premium and a garage big enough to house a load of tools, a car and be big enough to allow you to work on a car at the same time is pretty damn rare.

So how the hell do people do it? If I find out then I might be able to get some half decent work done on my car before it falls to bits.

My dads military and we got a hobby shop on the base with lifts and tools that we can use for a small fee

Same here. Infact I was told that if I helped get a car out of my local forces workshop then I could have their space but now I've been told that because my brother has an RX7 in the workshop I can't have mine in there too because my dad's not allowed to have two dependants using the workshop.

My dads being an asshole at the minute and swears that this is the case. Any chance that you can find out if its true? Basically I think he's got a problem with me doing major work on my car because he thinks I'll get part way into the project and then get bored.

Thats find out if its true that he can't have two people using the workshop, not that he's being an asshole. :smash:

I've never heard of any rule like thar. I've had 2 cars in at the same time before. plus they dont check to see if you're a dependant or not. which base is it??

Didn't realise there were so many pad's brats on here:D

(That's not a derogatory term, BTW, just what we call soldiers' offspring;))

You have to pay to use the facilities on camp? Where are you all from, Lakenheath?

Our place is good, as we can use the ramps and tools after hours. Not sure what the new place will be like though. Hopefully the same

I do all mine at my parents place, no garage though just a large yard, in the summer its not too bad, in the winter or when it rains it sucks. But the end results are always sweet.. Plus the wife doesn't know what I'm up to when I'm there visiting my parents

Me 2 :) I drove past a lot of the military stuff around there last weekend. Not far for me at all ;)

si works on our drive. keeps the tools locked in a safe place. runs our extra long extension lead out from the house, plus he has the added benefit of me there to make tea and lunch :smash: we use the front lawn to park my car atm, but when we've finished working on the house we plan to have the whole font drive relayed and will loose the lawn.

Nice one, plus cutting the lawn sucks as I have to do mine dodging all the cat pooh  :wack:

I want to build a garage, but theres no room. Have thought about getting a lockup and doing some weekend/night garage services, but I'll be concerned about security though as cheap lockups are usually in dodgy areas :wack:

why do we need a front lawn when the back garden is almost 100ft long???

Ive taxed my dads double width garage with electricity in it thats in his back garden. He also lets me use his tools and i put both my motorbikes in there too, and my spare wheels are behind the garage just to piss off all the neighbours. :smash:

Cheers Dad, glad you dont mind having to rent a council garage to keep your car in now. :worthy: Your a star.

I went to your house? has the lawn ever been cut? I always thought it took a while for it to grow about 20cm long.
