How does a driver quaify for 2 classes?

Noticed at knockhill Gary Mills qualified for Semi pro and Pro. Martin Battye qualified for Pro and Super pro (and won both).

I always thought you was limited to your own class?

Something like , if 1st place qualifies with a higher score than 16th in the class above you get to go up a level.

Gary came Quali'd 1st in Semi Pro, but didn't win Semi.
Martin didn't Quali 1st in Pro (7th), but he won Pro.

Gary Quali'd 2nd in Pro, don't know where he was knocked out.
Martin Quali'd 15th in Super Pro, and won that too.

So qualifying 1st in Semi gets you a shot at Pro?
And winning Pro gets you a shot at Super?

I dunno?

Martins car holding together to compete and win in both shows how important reliability is though, gotta be in it to win it, and most cars don't make it through one class, never mind two!

You get to qualify in the class above the next round if you finished top four the previous round.

So irst round (lydden) finish in the top four meant that you get the chance to qualify in the class up at the next round (knockhill)

Then if you qualify in top 16 I think for 2 rounds in the class above you automatically get promoted. So Martin could be super pro by round 4

Confusing, but that GTR powered S15 is a beast. Saw it at round one and definitely one of my favourite cars purely because of the mad engine swap.

It's as mattc said, however Martin is now in Super Pro as he finished in the top four of that group, therefore he moved straight up. Otherwise you have to finish in the top four of your group twice and qualify in the group above twice also.
