It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Is it an early or late engine?
What miles has it done, has it been well serviced?
Have you got a video of it running, have you got compression test results??
How quickly do you wanna sell it??
There's a couple of eBay in the 5-600 pound range, how quickly they sell in the run-up to Xmas is anyones guess.
IIRC you could buy the entire LS400 running and driving for 500 or under not long ago.

Company on eBay are still doing 1UZs for I think it's 350 delivered if you message them, and they've got hundreds. They've got a lot of W58 boxes for the same money too.
The banger boys love LS400s, but due to rules etc they remove the 1UZ etc, plonk in a carb Ford V6, and the 1UZ gets put for sale.

Engines range from 300 to 400 depending on version (vvt)
A full 1uz conversion can cost from 1000 to 3000 depending on what gbox and ecu you go for. A R154 can cost big money.
