I wanna go to school in japan

Hey guys I am planning on going to Japan to go to school. What are your opinions? Is Japan a safe place to spend some time as a student? Is there anyone on this that ever lived or lives in Japan on this?

So why do you want to go and live in a country where you cant communicate with people. People that generaly dislike europeans, especially if they cant be bothered to speak the language. How are you going to afford to live there? As there are no jobs for people that cant communicate.

If you have any genuine interest in going to japan, learn the language first then consider it.

To be fair, I don't think there's any easier country I've been to without knowing the language as Japan; there's very well known people who've lived there 10yr+ and can speak very little Japanese.

Either way, going to 'school' there for no reason other than wanting to is a retarded idea straight out of F+F Tokyo Drift.

Youve been to Sweden mate ;) :wack:

If youre going to school wouldnt your parents have a bit more to do with this than some pikey bastards on a drift website anyway?

And you found Japan easier than somewhere where the signs actually say the place names and everybody speaks English? C'mon man, I know wat youre getting at but its not "Europe easy" is it?

I have been to japan 2 times and they dont speak much english i got passed mostly by pointing and using fingers for numbers as said you really need to learn a good bit of the lingo to live there id say. Have you looked into the visa its not that easy to get to work anyway they want a degree to get one

Err yes, yes it is. In Tokyo at least.

You clearly haven't been if you think signs don't say place names etc.
Even McDonalds menus and underground train announcements/machines/etc are all in English as well as Japanese.

Found it easier than some places in Europe purely as the people aren't mostly unhelpful rude pricks, rather than the language.

Whatever. Every sign in Europe is written in latin letters, theres invariably an English speaker within 5 metres if you get stuck with anything and if you found people in Sweden to be unhelpful rude pricks then youre talking to the wrong people.

Ive not been to Japan but have done business there and know literally dozens of people who have (including 5 guys who live there full time) and they certainly struggled even doing something simple like ordering food, never mind navigating about or getting medical assistance for example. Fucks sake, you only have to watch the Outsiders video to see its somewhat removed from Europe.

You just have to go on and on and on until you're 'right' about everything. Even when talking about a place you've never been in your life.

And you REALLY think the Outsiders video is a true representation of what Japan is like? Haha, fucks sake. It was the drift stereotype Japan, drifting, temples, and karaoke.

Fuck knows how people struggled, it's piece of piss (even when pissed up in the middle of the night) in bigger places (I'm sure it's harder in middle of nowhere, but that's fact in any country). Even Dino (ie Speedhunters Dino) said when I went that his Japanese is very basic despite living there well over a decade, simply as there's no need over there.

And no, Swedish people weren't rude. Nowhere did I say that.

Simple fact is, anywhere is much easier if you can speak the language, but as places go that aren't hard to get on, Japan is one of the better ones, and all your "I've never been but I've spoke to people who have and watched a DVD about Japan" doesn't make that any different.

I turned just under £500K in Japan a couple of years ago, and it was a ballache from start to finish - we had to employ translators to do any business or contracts and local agencies to get my guys settled in, I had 5 blokes leave within a few days because they simply couldnt get on with not being able to understand or be understood.

Japan is not just Tokyo, and eating out and picking up hookers is not all you ever need to do. Having done exactly the same thing in pretty much every European country numerous times without needing any help or input from anyone I stand by what I said, Japan is far from the easiest country to go to without language - its better than China but claiming its easier than Sweden is fucking ridiculous.

What has "I turned just under 500k" in Japan got to do with anything. Talk about look who i am, I did laugh. I'm afraid Stav is right :-)

I did 500K of business over the course of about 5 months, in that time the guys had all sorts of problems that wouldnt have been problems in Europe. Its also highlighting that I havent just "spoke to people", is that a difficult concept for you?

If you are still struggling Ill put it much easier for you: Which country do you think it wopuld be easier to get some painkillers and post a letter in, Sweden or Japan? The business Ive done in both means I actually know , even though Ive not visited Japan personally.
