Hey,

I dont know anyone cares, but i just went to see my car in paint shop. Its now fully prepared for painting (bodywork needed alot of work) and i decided to go for it. So matt black it is, hardcore drift look. Just need a set of orange or red wheels to go with that :)

I cant wait to see whats going to happen :) I will post pics asap.
 
i love the matt black look aswell!!! i am would really like to do that to my car aswell. but every where is quoting too much i think.

Yeah, if you want a proper paintjob (not homemade can painted one) matt will cost you a bit more. But in my case it wasnt so bad. About same price as metalic.
 
guys, you need to be careful with matt paint. Most matt paint is not waterproof :eek: which will turn your lovely shiny 200sx into an AE86 ;) :p
What I did was to use the cheapest paint you can buy, it's called 'Chassis black' and is a synthetic paint. It's normally used for painting the underneath of trucks :) I got the paintshop guy to add some 'matting agent' but not enough to make it look grey. I really like the finish, it's smooth and a little shiny, but also matt. You really have to see it up close to understand, but I think it's cool :cool: :)

Mine will be painted with 3 layers of black car paint and then 2 layers of matt clear coat. Like normal metallic paint, except the clear coat will be matt.

I dont know exactly how it will look. I shown him a picture of gilera runner and told him i want something similar :)

If I ever fuck my car up enough, I will go flat black, and just to be the only guy in Ontario with Orange rims, I will do that. :thumbs: I say it looks pretty cool. Plus, also because no one else here has it, I will have a big ridiculous GT wing :thumbs: :thumbs:
