286bhp iirc?

Main differences are Evo has a 6spd, and it also has Vanos on the exhaust and inlet sides, whereas the M3 M50 has the vanos only on the inlet side.

edit - Evo has 321 bhp in comparison. Same as ZM3

Jord the truth is these are 286 bhp and rule of thumb is they consistently hit this figure at rr days regardless of age and mileage. The evo is 321 bhp but a large majority of them struggle to get that figure, normally just over 300bhp.
The 3.0 doesnt have Vanos troubles whereas the evo's often do (expensive repair)

I would only ever buy a 3.0 m3 but that's just me and I am biased having owned one. Having been in evo's I couldnt tell the difference performance wise. Plus the evo has more understeer dialled in to make it safer.

I second that,3.0 all the way,There's a little filter on the evo's that needs changing regularly at service intervals but often gets missed, and it kills them.
