Is 1994 BMW 318i a good beginner car?

Hello everyone,

I just got my full license and is looking to make my first car purchase. There is a 1994 BMW 318i that I found. Just wondering if this is a solid car for me to get into drifting and modifying cars.

If not, please recommend something.

Yes and no, insurance is gonna be high on it if it's gonna be your daily driver too. They aren't very powerful 100hp ish and are a bit heavy. Would an mx5 be an option as they are roughly same power but their lighter and can be turboed easy enough as it's been done a good few times before
 
If its your first car rear wheel drive is pretty much out the equation.
If you can afford the insurance go for it, but it'll not be great at drifting.
