Hello !

So im just looking into redoing repainting subframe including the whole hub ( all the rods/arms etc) However at the moment just looking at the rear , dont think im planning to get it powder coated or so , probably fat layer of hammerite , and probably replaced very worn out bushings and all of the 4 diff bushings .

So my question is am i just talking bunch of crap and all of this its just not worth it and should spend some £500 on powder coating + all new bushings and do that way or " simple dyi refurb " its fine too ?

I assume you're removing it completely to paint and not trying to do it in-situ?

but yea, give it a good go over with a wire-wheel or similar and then use rattle-cans, usually a top coat in some kind of underseal or stone-chip works well.

If you're going to go to the effort of removing and doing some you may as well wait and do all of them.

Value your time and effort n that my mans.

Thank you , do you think its also worth to try " home respray dyi " sort of thing , like hammerite , or its just another thing take every arm, whole frame itself to powder coating shop and let them do it ?

What arms are you going to re-use? Cos there's plenty of options for adjustable arms.

You don't have to faf around removing old bushes, getting the arms blasted and coated then re-installing new bushes.
