Is running spacers over 20mm bad for drifting?

Got some +40 17x9 Enkei wheels and I need some spacers for the front to put the wheels on. What size Spacers would be best for drifting wise for my offset? Is going over 20mm bad? Also, for the future, what should I run on the rear? Car is a 240sx with bc racing coils and 235/45 tires. I don't really care about flush and all that. Just want performance and good handling.
 
Wheel spacers are fine... I've seen people run 100mm spacers on drift cars in the rear - I run 40mm spacers upfront on my S13
