Japanese import history check.

I bought a Nissan Gloria that was imported from Japan a few years back. The guy I bought it from had no idea about the car or any previous history.
The more I research into the car the more I find out about it.
I'd like to find out its history prior to being imported as it's had a lot of custom work & some nice tuner parts on it including a lot of genuine impul items including the ecu. Also has a genuine junction produce bodykit & rare Imc front conversion.
I can't even find a lot of info about IMC or the kit!
Can anyone help with info on where to look or details I can send to someone to find out?
 
Search with some of your spec on google but in japanese. You might get lucky and find the owner had a page on minkara carview. No idea what it is but seems to be like a public blog page people use to show upgrades to their cars.

But yeah, translate the colour into japanese and add some of the bits and you might get lucky.

To get actual detailed history (mileage check and reg and stuff) i think can be done but you have to pay for the service. Someone will be along im sure with the details.
 
I've found a company that does a similar thing to a hpi check for japaneese registered/deregistered vehicles,

I've ordered a report form (should contain most information about the car and hopefully the auction grading certificate of possible) for 3,500 JP yen.

I'll let you know if they come though with any good information for my rx7, should take a day to be emailed to me.

Also they do it off the vin number so it's handy if you don't know your cars original reg number.

I'd appreciate any feedback on this. It would be amazing to find out who modified my car.
 
Ian, i dont think it will give you names of owners. Its the equivalent of an HPI check., So confirms mileage and crash/damage history etc.

If thats what you want, youre better off doing what i said in Google.
 
I tried that mate but I got no info on my car. Google generally has very little info on Glorias full stop.
Unless I'm missing a trick!

I just got my report back, unfortunately it didn't tell me much I didn't already know, as mine was imported in 2004 the auction records only go back to 2007....

But I did show me that it's never failed a inspection been stolen or written off, unfortunately I don't think it'd help yourself much.

That would be great, I still can't find anything.
It's a 1993 Nissan Gloria Y32. I think it's a Gran Turismo model but not 100%.
It is painted custom blue which I have no details of.
It has a full Junction Produce bodykit.
Imc Eurospec front end to look like a jaguar.
Clear side lights, indicators & rear lenses.

I think there are some websites that you can go to there to check the history car with the code, or when you buy the car, there is an inspection for this car, you can ask someone who understands Japanese to know the condition of the car.
