Okay so I'm nineteen. I had a mitsubishi eclipse when I was sixteen, but sold it when I was seventeen and bought a running project: my 1991 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Convertible. Now I want to get rid of the convertible and take over a new project. I'm wanting to buy an old Datsun 240z and make it into a drifter/occasional street car. It definitely won't be my daily as the upkeep would be hell. I have little mechanical experience, but I figure with the right tools and internet access anything can be done, right? So I have about two years until I go back to university.

The link to the car I want to buy is here: Datsun 240z Needs Resore

I'd like to pull all mechanics out, repaint it and do some chassis work, paint the exterior pieces and reinstall them, then replace any mechanical parts that can't be restored to like new condition. I'll have about 6-7,000 to start with. I'm going to restore it first, then upgrade it for drifting. I wondered what everyone thought; am I getting in over my head? My dad is letting me live with him while I go to school so my only expense would be the car parts. I'd like to make a one of a kind Datsun and 'Dare to be Different'.
