k-sport coilovers

Pretty soon I reckon I'll be looking to get another Eunos Roadster which I'll be making a bit more drifty than my last effort. I was wondering, are the K-sport coilovers available for the mk1 eunos roadster and if so what's the price and availability like? I'd be looking in a few months, not right away, but just wondering if this would be better value than the Gaz kit available.

sorry to hi jack

My mate has just bought some for his s14, the rears seem to be too short, i.e to run the height wanted we had to leave about 10mm of thread into the main lower part, which is no good. We left 40mm of thread which we though was enough to be strong and the car is soooo low!!!

Any change that he was sent S13 rears??? Are they different????

Thanks

No problem :).
I am aware that the rears are very low on S14's. The S13's wouldn't physically fit though. I'll contact Ksport and see if they are aware of any issue.

Ok, good to know he has the correct ones.

Do you have a recomended minimum thread length that should be left in the lower part of the strut to prevent failure??? i.e the max height that can be run safely.

Just my mate wants to run the height that his fixed height Teins were so he does not need camber......toe........slippery slope.

Thanks

in theory, as theres very little lateral movement 10-20mm 'may' be alright, but before he sets them at that I'd rather back from Ksport.
Stupid question perhaps, but how much pre-load do you have on the springs?

Well (athough very bad practice) we just left the preload at what they came with, we just ensured the left and right were the same, which they were.

Just for reference what do you recomend for normal road use. I always thought to set it so the spring only just cant move.

Thanks again

What're the spring rates of the roadster kit phil?

Sorry, been out the office today, will check tomorrow :).

Steve, less preload on harder coilovers, allows the wheel to fall a little more (more travel) which allows the tyre to stay on the ground a little easier over curbs and the like, it gives a little more traction, but more importantly you gain a bit of that lost steering feel when flying over stuff.. Just in my experience of course :)

no hurry chap. as I say, it's not going to be for a while yet anyway, just getting a feel for what's on the market. Am I right in thinking these are basically rebranded D2s with different damper valving?
