Excited for this.

It was explained on Speedhunters, I think something like he was worried that he could damage the manifold and exhaust if they went under the car, or if they needed replacing, it would be easier to work on if it just went like that. It is only a missile car though..

I like Missile cars :D dont get the exhaust on the 13 though, wont he have lost any sort of back pressure from the lact of any boxes on it and it being so short

Cool vid. The exhaust is so you dont have to worry about it when you hit/tap a wall. no worries about broken manifolds, exhaust, gaskets etc

When it comes to turbocharged applications backpressure is something you dont want. The more free flowing your exhaust system is the better. Infact his setup will probably aid the spool of the turbo by a tad.

Missile cars make me laugh. Most of them have engines which are worth more than most whole cars we consider as trampers over here. Not forgetting the suspension and seats and etc etc.
Show me someone throwing a 1.4 volvo at a wall in the states or Jap land and Ill be impressed. Show me people throwing cars/parts which most people here work like mad to get even close to owning and I wanna cry.

I want an exhaust out the bonnet of my S13.

Turn the manifold upside down. Exhaust system along the roof FTW.

I agree, I'm not sure where I read the amount that it cost to build the "missiles" but it was definitely worth more than my entire car. Still, the sentiments the same. Those guys are used to thrashing cars worth a helluva lot more than those in the videos.

If you can show me a video of people throwing 1.4 volvos around (which I'm sure actually happens) with the same kind of production value and feel good vibe it can only receive a similar reception.

But even if they do destroy the car, the engine, seat, wheels, suspension can then be thrown onto another standard car and you've got urself a new car for basically peanuts
