Looking for a KP61(RWD Starlet)

CorollaRWD

-RUTHLESS-
If anyone knows of one, Will, Paz etc? Anyone of toyotaownersclub?
Not bothered about mods, just want a 3 door
Cheers
Alex

There's two round my way, both 3 doors, both standard, both quite tidy-ish. I've asked both owners to sell but they aren't having any of it...

I do know of someone selling a 5K (Lite-Ace, 1.5l) engine with 5 speed box for an easy bolt in torquey upgrade, though looking at your old AE86 and your current one, I would doubt that would be the route you're looking to take...

Always fancied a stripped 4AGE'd KP avec le MIG/TIG-spec NSD.

Nick might know of one or two for sale, but they will likely be Ford running gear (sacrilage, but quite sensible when you think about it).

Will. If you do see any or they change their minds let me know. 5k ones sounds cool though, you got anymore info and very interested?
Wouldn't really want a ford one because I would just get all that crap out and put some good old toyota running gear in.
Cheers

There is one that is IDENTICAL to your old one in Stoke somewhere, ive only seen it once. A woman was cruising around in it.. haha.

There's no Starlet for sale, just a 5K engine and box for a quick and easy bolt-in torque upgrade. It's a mate of mine up in Scotland who's got the engine and box; he was going to put it in an old 'Rolla but is going 1600 2T-B twin-carbie instead.

Another mate of mine sold a nicely prepped KP61 a while back - AE86 LSD axle but Pinto lump, Capri legs etc. Mental car though. Don't know where that is now.

Being a Toyota gimp, I have to agree about the Ford conversions, though the bits are strong and readily available. Almost all of the race/stock KP's are blue-oval'd up though.

Damn it I must have got all excited and not read your post fully :wack:
If I find one I m either go to go nuts of the K engine or put a Carbed 4age and t50 in and deffo not anything ford. Unless a cossy lump, lol

If you wanted something old, different and 4AG'able, you could just buy my incognito, cheesy TE71 Corolla SE...

Same floorpan as an AE86, front struts go right on, rear axle and shocks is a bolt-on, T50 is already in there - just swap out the 2T-B twin-carb for a 4AG and you have poor mans hachi-roku at a fraction of the price and lighter too.

I did plan to do this one day for ultimate cheese-drift frolics, but so far haven't been able to bring myself to butcher it since it's a pretty tidy, 1 owner, original example with 55,000 miles...

Umm you got some pics?
I want to build a rally/sprint car so am thinking the KP would be excellent, small enough to get sideways in a single lane road

Gimme your email and I'll furnish you with some proper old skool pimp cheese delights. The interior is ridiculous, though I had a bird once who non-sarcastically described it as divine retro heaven. Which it isn't. I preferred the stripey brown deck-chair description.

As for size, yeah a KP would defo be better, the TE71 is slightly smaller and a bit lighter than an AE86.

Wouldnt mind seeing this oldskool beast. Whats aftermarket support like LSD etc.

Errr, well aftermarket support is the same as for the AE86, since you will be running AE86 struts/brakes/suspension/rear axle which all bolt right on.

Must be the absolute cheapest way of having an AE86 (ish) at the moment.

I'll emai you some pics.
