Hi, im new to drifting and looking to buy my first drift car, i wanted some advice on what car would be best to start with and what modifications are necessary. Id ideally like to buy something allready modified and ready to go that i can just use.
Looking at e36’s and 46’s mainly, much difference between the two in terms of how well they drift? Much difference between body style Coupe/saloon/compact ? Is there much real difference between engine performance with the 6 cylinder cars? I was thinking as a minimum I would need, a welded diff, coilovers, more steering lock, hydro handbrake, bucket seat, possibly upgraded cooling system? Anything else? Thanks

E36 - 318is, 318ti, 323i, 325i, 328i
E46 - 320i, 323i, 325i, 328i, 330i

Any of them will do lovely as a first skidder, any body style. All E36s are the same except compact uses a E30 style rear end. All E46s are the same.

First mods- Welded diff, coilovers, bucket seat.

Thats it, go get seat time, keep it cheap, keep it fun. Add steering lock and hydro when you think you need it fella
