Hi peeps, ive got a loud knock coming from the front of my s15!! The coilovers are cs2 which are only a thousand miles old ive just replaced every rose joint on my driftworks arms and lower arms so there's no play in any joint! The only thing I can think being a problem is the anti roll bar drop links as they are a little perished but I would of thought both sides would knock not just the drivers side? Any opinions or anything else I should check would be greatly appreciated thanks kev :)

So I've just fitted new poly bushed drop links on the front and its still knocking/ clonking.... its a very harsh noise as tho something is broken.. its got new rose joints on every arm! new cs2 coilovers that have done only a 1000 miles I honestly don't have a clue what else it could be as I don't see any play in anything!! Only thing I can think of now is the bushes on the roll bar itself?? any help would be awesome cheers

you havn't explained the problem very well so it's hard to trouble shoot.

Is the kingpin bolt tight?

Could be a blown shock. Happened to me a good few times now with HSD's. Sounds like a savage knock, actually.. I think 3 of my MX5 ones are currently the same; and 4x HSD's my mate runs, have all shit them selfs aswell. My s15 one did it, Chaser one did it. Jites HSD's are now fucked aswell. So although the millage is low.. thats what I would look at first.

Also Rosemounts? Why :S Such a short life span ..

could be absolutely anything really. if your in front of the car and cant tell, im not sure how someone on the internet is going to be able to know.

jack it up, shake the wheel about and work out whats banging, take coilover off and check it out

Well I've stripped the front end as it was seriously pissing me off as it was a very harsh clonk/knock... I've checked the wheel bearing, every rose joint is new, new drop links, new pillow ball topmount, top nut is torqued up, new poly bushed drop links and the anti roll bar bushes are a little perished but no where near bad enough for this noise. so it can only be the coilover now :( I was hoping it was something else as the coilover is near on new and ive already had a replacement dampner from driftworks as the previous coilover was leaking after only 200miles. So I'll put up with it for now, then get a new one :( when I've got some cash... Cheers for the help guys:thumbs:
