1991 Toyota Soarer
2.5 twin turbo 1JZ GTE
169,050 km (the car has never been converted to mph)
W58 manual conversion
MOT until 7th August 2020
Where to start, the car has been with me for over 6 years.
During this time it has spent the majority of it off the road parked on my dads drive (which he loved).
I took the car off the road initially to sort out a couple of niggling jobs.
As most project car stories go life got in the way as I decided to study and then buy a house etc.
The car is now back on the road and comfortably passed a legitimate MOT having had a multitude of work carried out.
During the drive home from where the Soarer was stored while I was working on it, the clutch started to slip when the car came on to boost.
I now no longer have the heart to continue with the car and make it into what it deserves to be so have decided to part ways.
Firstly what makes it a rolling project;
The clutch is slipping when the car comes on boost with wide open throttle, however the car is still drivable and you should make it home if driven sensibly.
Corrosion on the rear left quarter/arch (pictured) - However a clean partial quarter/arch is included in the sale.
Passenger window does not function.
Climate control screen LCD display issue (common Soarer fault).
ECT and overdrive warning lights displayed due to manual conversion (not an issue but a point to note).
Paintwork is tatty, plenty of chips, paint cracks and marks etc. It would benefit from a respray.
Rear boot has a dent in it (pictured) - However a dent free boot is included.
The dash has broken air vents and ash tray - However perfect replacements will be supplied with the car.
The front bumper has a crack in it - However a good condition front bumper is included which also has a nice front lip fitted.
The wheels need refurbishment, the chrome plating on the centres is peeling off and the barrels have curb rash.
Various other age related marks on the interior and cracks on the plastic upper window trim (common problem).
The door cards have been painted black but the rest of the interior is beige - However the majority of a grey leather interior will be included with some bits already painted black.
No rear seat belts fitted, the rear seats have been re-fitted since the MOT (noted advisory).
Steering wheel is fitted off centre (alignment is good and it drives as it should)
Modifications;
W58 manual conversion
Pearlescent paint (the colour is not shown well in the images)
BC racing coilovers
Staggered fit split 17'' allow wheels, made in Japan (however the make is unknown to me)
Cat back mandrel bent stainless steel 3'' exhaust (the car is loud but because of the 1JZ it sounds incredible)

Boost gauge
Oil pressure gauge (although not plumbed in)
JDM gear knob
