hello, decided to turn my 2L pinto powerd mk3 capri into a drift weapon.

had been dry stored for the last 15 years of its life, 3 owners 75,000 miles. had a leaded head still, currently the car is being stripped again as the first engine choice was a xud11te. yes a peugeot diesel engine..... this was for economy realy, 240bhp 350lbft on chip fat isnt too bad as iv have lots of experience with this engine, but as things have progressed iv have realised i will need more power.

I decided to keep it original with a 3.0l V6...:o vg30dett haha. currently waiting on a gearbox so will update on that as soon as.

got a 2.4 quick rack and im waiting for a corsa c power steering i bought off ebay to come so i can get it put in, still need to order some front coilys but this is already stripping me for every penny i have. also made some shorter steering arms so should have some decent steering lock (the standard lock is shocking) if anyone has any info or advice its appreciated. ill take some pictures of the build tonight show you where im upto :smokin:

I would say that if it's been dry stored for 15 years, maybe sell it for a restoration project, and buy a not as nice shell for less and drift that. The car will probably get fucked from drifting and it may be a shame for a car that has survived that long, to be bent like a banana by some shit box E36.

But yeah, Capris are awesome.

Don't plan on using is as just a drift car but i get what you mean ! seen too many build threads of older cars and everyone whos started off with a rust bucket spending hours cutting and welding bits back to factory. personally i cant be arsed with all that, the shell is by no means perfect but its a decent base, both front wings arent original and it was down as a 1.6 4spd but some time before the year 2000 someone put a 2ltr pinto on a type 9 in so it wasnt worth restoring in my eyes.. if it was a 3.0L s or a 2.8i i would be leaving it be :)

If it's a solid straight shell, definitely worth saving, if not... get it sideways!
