As above, time to replace my work horse so looking for a jack of all trades(if one exists) Do a lot of motorway miles, ride mtb and have 2 dogs so thinking a good sized estate would be best. I have narrowed it down to below so looking for any pro's con's peeps have on either and maybe some wild cards??? Estate not a necessity btw, just a preference........

335i M Sport 2010+
335d M Sport 2010+
C350d AMG 2010+
IS300H 2014+

Any suggestions?

Are you REALLY going to properly drift a car that new/expensive that you also have to rely on as a big mile daily driver?

Can't picture it to be fair

TBH Stavros, no. I just wanna mess about with a drift day once a month or something. I don't have towing on my license so although buying something cheaper AND a dedicated smoker c/w trailer to transport would be good it's just not feasible. I have a e36 now stripped out with welder on n haven't been able to get it to a drift session, just mess about on our industrial estate a couple of Sunday afternoons.

Best option I can see is sell my daily and e36, and buy a do it all :)

Depends on the mpg you're after but a v8 5 series estate would be what I am looking at e39 or e60 both will get about 30mpg on the motorway if you're half sensible and would be more than capable of doing the miles and being comfortable during the week and fun at the weekend.

Thing is you've got to think about the maintenance and repair costs, cause at some point you will crash, guaranteed. Also would you be able to do a drift day Saturday, fix any issues Sunday and have it ready for commuting again on monday? Up to you on that one but I know I'd rather use the cheap ass e36 for drifting and have a separate daily car.

I've done the daily drifter thing with my old mx5, it never missed a beat BUT I was always cautious that I could easily blow up an engine/gearbox or do some damage to the car quite easily. It had plenty of small dents and marks from various cones etc.

I sure as shit wouldn't take a newish car like a 335i to a drift day.

Besides they have open diffs. So what you're gonna weld the diff on a 10k odd car?

Also, all the cars you have mentioned are mainly auto's, I don't see much fun in drifting a £10k auto 1800kg estate when you have a e36 sitting there.....

Cheers for info guys, didn't think about bumps n scrapes or breaking owt :-/

Prob best to keep daily n weekend drifter separate, that's why I asked on here cheers gents :)
