My C33 Laurel build

This is nearly going now so I thought I might put up a thread for it as I plan to get some track time in it also
building this up mainly as a weekend hero with the intention of having plenty of fun in it

Started life as an RD28 auto, spent 358,000km's like that

Mate of mine previously had it, he lowered it on some a-techs

Then I got it and rocked some ugly fronts and stock rears

Picked up some 17x9's for the back

Cruised in it for ages like that then did this

Cranked it over to find a horrible knock from the motor, pulled it down again and found stripped threads in the crank for the flywheel bolts so put in another crank with new main and big end bearings

ready to go back in

got to sling a fuel return line down the chassis and then it's mainly wiring (i'm a sparky so naturally i cbf cause i do enough at work lol)

have 15" wheels on their way and then have to find some suspension that will actually go low enough for me :D

I love the C33 body shape. Never seen one for sale over in the UK which is a shame.

Engine bay finish looks very professional. I am extremely jealous of your battlewagon. C33 would be my car of choice if I was ever fortunate enough to find one. May be time to consider moving to the southern hemisphere.

C33s are sexy indeed, but for the price of moving your whole life to another hemisphere, have you considered importing? :P
Judging by what i've seen on tv (NZ cop shows), I wish you the best of luck in explaining the suspension to what seems a very pedantic police force

Cheers guys i love the shape, got that old school nissan shape to them

Already had it ordered off the road once as it was sitting on the front bump stops and the exhaust had been pretty well destroyed

Pretty defective vehicle sticker

Looks rely cool love laurels. Specs of ca and what turbo is that

Just a very standard CA18. Have replaced main and big end bearings but left original rings in it
Has chinese job stainless headers and a noname T3 turbo on it with 38mm external gate
Front mount intercooler and alloy radiator. Running a chipped ecu which is supposedly good for 260bhp and is otherwise standard.

Plans for exhaust will be 2.5" turbo-back and i have a fujitsubo muffler here to put on the end of it. Will be flanged and an optional straight-pipe will be kept close by

Chasing a driveshaft atm so i can have my first drive, not having much luck yet everybody i've dealt with has been a bit useless

Been driving this around. Had a few drives with no exhaust off the turbo lol then got exhaust made up. Trying to straighten out a few niggles and water pump failed during a drive.

Car seems very strong, seems to go quite well

New water pump in, can see some damage from the pulley going wayward when the bearing collapsed. Had to replace the pulley too.

Downpipe

FGK muffler

Nice and tucked up to let me go low

Lowered it temporarily before I lower it more (and properly)

before

after (desprung)

Still too high.

Couple of interor shots

Opinions on the soft centre in the steering wheel?

So this showed up today

And let it down to the ground, rear is at final height, front needs to come down more yet. has 40-50mm left but will probably call it a day at 15-20mm
