Hey guys welcome to my new build, this is my third evo, it's an evo 1 gsr which will be stripped down and built into a true drift car
anyways
the car was in an accident and the front end will need to be redone
first time seeing the car on pictures
when i first went to see it after trading my wrx for the evo 3 and the evo 1 gsr smashed
after sitting there since like january i went to pick it up finally
my 3 evos or Threevo lol , my green rwd converted summer evo 1, my black evo 3 daily/winter beater, and my evo drift car build
some damage and missing door that the guy had sold,... damn lol
engine should still be good so i can sell and make some money for the build
shock tower bent and frame rail too...
my friend has given me this car dodge colt for parts, was going to be a rally car build but he decided to scrap it so i took it for fixing the front end
front end of the colt undamaged , started stripping and getting engine ready to remove
ok back to rwd evo build
gay chrysler logo on fender in place of indicators, now these will be replaced with indicators that i have poped them out for now
door bolted on, fender just put on not bolted
hood on but only so it doesnt rain into the engine, anyways i got something planned for the hood you guys will see duh
well thats it for now but my plan is something like this
the reasons i'm going with sr20 and not 4g63
well for starters this is a budget evo drift build car so it would be way to costly fitting and finding the transmission and mating, water pump etc when i can just put in an engine that is made to be like that and reliable easy to mod and will make the power goals i want, maybe i'll eventually go back to 4g63 but if i do want to challenge the big boys in the states one day i'm thinking mitsubishi v6 twin turbo mated to a hollander transmission with or a jerico 4speed with dogbox but thats just a dream right now and a realisation once i get more sponcers and money lol but for now sr20
as for body will probably do something custom wide-body dunno yet we'll see
was planning on using a s13 front subframe but there are rules in my local drift competition that i plan on competing in once my car is finished basically it says no changing subframes must use stock mounting points so that puts a big X on my s13 front and it says ethier stock subframe which wont work or tube frame, soooo with that said i'll have to make a tube frame for the stock subframe or mod the stock subframe to work and try and pass the inspection, also have some rules for the transmission tunnel but i should be ok, heres the rulebook
8.3.1 Basic Chassis Design
The vehicle chassis, frame and / or uni-body must remain unmodified between
the vertical planes created by the original forward most and rearwardmost suspension mounting points unless otherwise specified in these rules.Uni-body or chassis may be seam welded.
8.3.3 Modifications of the stock, OEM firewall and transmission tunnel are allowed as follows:
Version 2.2 April 25th 2012
DRIFT MANIA CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP 2012 Rules and Regulations
Dimension A: Tunnel Width May be no wider than 18 Inches
Dimension B: Minimum dimension of 10 inches between the bottom of
the windshield and the top of the transmission tunnel.
Dimension C: Modifications of the driveshaft tunnels behind the transmission tunnel taper vertical plane should not exceed an overall
width of 10 inches.
Dimension D: Modifications to driveshaft tunnels behind the
transmission tunnel taper vertical plane should not exceed an overall
width of 10 inches.
Taper Length: (from the firewall to the end of the transmission tunnel
into the beginning of the driveshaft hump) may be no longer than 36
inches.
No part of the engine casing may cross the vertical plane of the original
firewall into the transmission tunnel.
No other modifications may be made to the vehicle chassis, frame, or
uni-body unless otherwise specified in these rules.
Any holes in the firewall must be of the minimum size for the passage
of controls and wires, and must be completely sealed to prevent the passage of fluids or flames from the engine compartment to the cockpit.
8.3.4 Front cross member and/or front or rear sub-frame
The cross-members and the sub-frame front and back may be of origin or tubular fabrication. The cross members must be located at the exact same position as the one of origin of the car and must not be displaced on the frame and cannot be cut and the “chassis” cannot be modified as stated in point 8.3.1. The arm suspension anchor points on the origin part or tubular fabrication may be re-located from its original position.
my friend kristian's evo rwd front subframe
so tube frame front like nilus
my imagination of what it could look like once done
anyways lemme know what you think and support and if anybody got some tips and stuff lemme know and I will be making a video series vlog style build on the car for sure
any advice is greatly appreciated
